National, state groups add backing to single-payer plan restricting choice

DENVER—Late yesterday, Health Care for All Colorado’s (HCAC) Board of Directors voted unanimously to support the government takeover of health care with a $25 billion-a-year income tax hike proposed by Amendment 69, also known as ColoradoCare.

Health Care for All Colorado is also an affiliate of HealthCare-NOW!, a national single-payer advocacy organization. The HealthCare-NOW! board also endorsed ColoradoCare.

Advancing Colorado Executive Director Jonathan Lockwood released the following statement:

“Single-payer lobbyists want to pull the plug on health care in Colorado and conscript us into a health care system that puts our lives into the hands of a politically-appointed board. They have tried to confuse voters and deceive the media in their coercive push for a tyrannical system that will rob Coloradans of their health care freedoms. It is an outrage that national special interests are trying to experiment on us, and take away our right to personal decisions regarding the full range of health care choices.”
