Statement on Obamacare veto override in House
DENVER—Today, Advancing Colorado Executive Director Jonathan Lockwood released the following statement on the the House of Representatives’ effort to override President Obama’s veto of Obamacare repeal legislation:
“Under Obama, the road to health care reform was paved with good intentions, and it has led us to a very dangerous place. Thanks to Obamacare, here in Colorado, we will be hit with more premium increases, this year as high as over 30 percent. Single-women, veterans, children and seniors are all clearly suffering under the president’s health care law and we cannot stand for this moral outrage any longer.
“We must repeal Obamacare to save lives, decrease costs in health care, expand coverage and accessibility, and restore freedom of choice in health care.
“The president’s veto of legislation to repeal Obamacare shows he is more committed to a political agenda than to the health and rights of Americans. The House vote to override his veto was a good move and the fact our representatives have tried over sixty times to repeal his health care takeover shows how uncaring he is to the continued suffering of the American people.”
