“Our Lives Matter” increased refugee screening campaign launched
DENVER—Advancing Colorado launched a digital campaign, “Our Lives Matter,” featuring a petition and digital ads on Facebook and Google, calling on Coloradans to express their outrage with Gov. John Hickenlooper for his open-door policy on refugee relocation to Colorado. The campaign is also targeting Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., for declining to take a clear stance on increased refugee screening measures in the wake of jihadist attacks.
“Every single Coloradan should be infuriated with Bennet for playing the same game he did with the Iran deal, and indignantly livid with our governor for gambling with our lives possibly for political gain,” said Jonathan Lockwood, executive director of the free market advocacy group. “Political correctness is getting innocent people killed and Coloradans won’t stand for jihadists being imported into their communities under the guise of humanitarianism.”
Advancing Colorado criticized the governor and Bennet last week in national and state media outlets and has begun rallying grassroots activists on the issue. Lockwood has called for reasonable, common-sense bipartisan measures to be taken to ensure protection of Coloradans from potential terrorists.
From the digital campaign’s landing site featuring the online petition:
“Gov. John Hickenlooper and Sen. Michael Bennet are sacrificing our safety in the name of political correctness. They have been misleading and confusing constituents on the refugee issue. Sign the petition to tell Hickenlooper and Bennet that our safety should be the highest priority.”
