Gangster government benefits from Obamacare’s silent-killer taxes

DENVER—All Americans, even those not covered by Obamacare, will be subjected to a new and increasing tax to pay for “affordable health care” beginning in September. An investigation revealed all Americans who have purchased health insurance policies this year will pay 41 percent more in excise taxes as a result of hidden “fees” buried in Section 9010 of Obamacare.

Additionally, Obamacare’s upcoming “Cadillac tax” on health plans threatens to hit one in four employers when it takes effect and will impact 42 percent of employers by a decade later.

“Obamacare is killing us. The time is now for relief from the pain of increased costs and burdens of this disastrous law. Our right to a free and open health care system was stolen from us with Obamacare,” said Jonathan Lockwood, executive director of Advancing Colorado, a free-market advocacy group. “These silent-killer taxes keep gangster government thriving, while making it harder for us to live healthy lives. Coloradans must be able to have choice, and affordable, high-quality and accessible health care. It is a matter of life and death.”

The Section 9010 tax will cost citizens $8 billion the first year, with scheduled increases to over $14 billion annually by 2018, according to Twila Brase, the president of Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF).

Brase said:

“By next Monday, August 31st—or possibly before—the federal government will tell each plan what portion of the health insurance tax they will be required to pay before September 30th. And this tax, and therefore the increases to the insured, will happen every year.”

According to the IJReview, The Congressional Budget Office (CBO), “projects that consumers will pay more than $145 billion for the tax over the next 10 years, increasing incrementally over time.”

An actuarial review of “Section 9010” by the management firm Oliver Wyman predicts individual policyholders will pay $514 more this year due to the Obamacare tax.

From the IJReview:

“Incidentally, those who were supposed to benefit the most from Obamacare – the elderly and the poor – also end up hit hard by the tax. Section 9010 mandates that seniors dependent on Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D must also pay the tax, regardless of their financial situation.

The audit estimated that seniors would end up paying an average of $360 more in taxes this year because of the law, while Medicaid managed-care enrollees will see an average increase of $152.”

The “Cadillac tax” was included in Obamacare as a way to steal billions of dollars out of the health care market and use that money to pay for other benefits chosen to be included in Obamacare.

From the Washington Times:

“Formally known as the high-cost plan tax, the provision is a 40 percent excise on the cost of health care coverage above $10,200 for an individual and $27,500 for a family, although those amounts could change when the government issues final regulations for 2018 and as it indexes the thresholds for inflation in later years.”

Lockwood added:

“Congress needs to act now, and our lawmakers must do their part to fight for us, fight for health care freedom, and fight for our right to a health care system that puts us in control, not a huge bureaucracy that fails us, and doesn’t care.”
