Bennet “likely” to pop Iran Deal champagne “sooner rather than later”
DENVER—Former Colorado Sen. Gary Hart showed up at a pro-Iran rally urging Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., to make the “right” decision saying, “I think he will. My guess is it’ll be sooner rather than later.” Hart is lobbying Bennet to support the president’s Iran Deal. President Obama today picked up the support he needed to sustain a veto of a disapproval resolution.
Advancing Colorado Executive Director Jonathan Lockwood released the following statement:
“While time ticks and Obama, Reid, and Iran are getting ready to pop champagne, Bennet is staring at his RSVP card. It should concern every Coloradan that Bennet is more concerned what former senators and ideologues have to say than the bipartisan chorus of voices in Colorado shouting: Bennet what is your position?”
From the Denver Post:
“Hart was appointed about a year ago to chair the International Security Advisory Board to the State Department by Secretary of State John Kerry.
He said if the deal did not go through, the U.S. would forfeit international leadership and be ostracized.”
