DENVER—Today, Advancing Colorado, announced that Jonathan Lockwood will lead the group as executive director starting May 22. Advancing Colorado works to advance a culture of opportunity and freedom through advocacy, education and outreach. Advancing Colorado focuses on issues like the national debt, wasteful government spending and government intrusion into private lives and business.
Advancing Colorado will be educating Coloradans on the recent legislative session and engaging in the upcoming debates on health care, education, energy and holding politicians accountable.
“We are really excited to bring Jonathan on board. He has a track record of speaking out on important issues and achieving success in his roles,” said Rich Bratten, board member. “We aim to advance a culture of opportunity and freedom here in Colorado. We will do that by bringing issues into the public light and educating fellow Coloradans and providing them with information on pressing issues facing families and future generations.”
Lockwood comes to Advancing Colorado from Generation Opportunity, leaving his position as Colorado state director. Prior, Lockwood served in various positions including communications director for Compass Colorado, communications director for Coloradans for Real Education Reform, which defeated Amendment 66. Jonathan worked as the press lead for Free Colorado, and also served as press secretary for the Colorado House GOP.
Lockwood is available for media meetings and interviews as incoming executive director.
